The proposed classroom block for the Aeronautical Department at NITTE, embraces the challenges of a corner site by embodying the triangular geometry in its planning. The large site setback areas are utilized as landscape pockets. The corner of the triangular building is emphasized with fileted edges and a circular column.The water feature in the north corner acts as a focal point for the pergola-d walkway towards the east edge. The central bay (containing the staircase) divides the triangular floor plan into 2 parts; the classrooms & seminar halls towards the South and the Staff rooms & Toilet block towards the north. Viewing galleries/corridors on every floor and the recessed windows maximize natural light into the building. The stepped seating in the open amphitheater towards the west offers a variation in the learning environment acting as a platform for interaction.
